Iran offers fantastic skiing and a beautiful backdrop whilst doing so. It has a long season and dependable snow conditions, but to date only 1% of the people skiing in Iran are from outside the country. That’s why here at Iran Darius , we are proud to provide ski touring to Iran.
Only a two-hour drive from the capital is the resort of Dizin, the country’s most popular and largest ski resort. It is located 2,650 metres up the Alborz Mountains. In addition, there are a number of other resorts in the area, such as Shemshak and Darbandsar, which are also great skiing locations but smaller than Dizin.
acclimatization for Damavand ski Tours
The Alborz range north of Teheran with Mt. Damavand (5.671 m) as its highest peak is still an insider tip for ski mountaineers. Even proficient alpinists must ensure good acclimatization at these elevations.
Depending on snow and weather conditions we will acclimatize either in the Daborrar Mountains or at Alam Kuh. In the Lasem area we stay with locals, the acclimatization zone is at 4.100 m.
I recommend one or the other ski tour to a minimum elevation of 3.500 m during the last two weeks prior to departure. The acclimatization gained in these tours will remain effective for up to three weeks.
